Oregon State Tenants Association (OSTA) was founded in 1977.

	Two years later the Oregon Legislature provided its first protections for MHP residents.
	Later added Manufactured Home Owners of Oregon (MHOO) to its name.

OSTA had its first membership conference in 1978.  It has held a conference or seminar, with 100 - 50 people in attendance, every year since then.  In September of 2007, we celebrated our 30 year anniversary.

MHOO-OSTA currently has over 2,000 members in 18 counties and 62 cities across Oregon.

MHOO-OSTA has a Board of 9 Directors.  The state is divided into 10 districts.  There are 50 chapters in individual parks.

OSTA published its first newsletter in 1977.  It has since published 130 issues.  The newsletter is now a quarterly publication.

Pat and Fred Schwoch joined OSTA in 1989.  They have been in leadership positions with OSTA since 1992.  Pat has represented OSTA in the Oregon legislature in every session since 1995.

During 2007, Pat has averaged six calls per day from residents seeking help regarding their rights as tenants.
